Year 1 spent time planning a route to Queen’s Park and plotting it on a map. We followed the route and talked about what we could see on the way. We remembered which direction to go too. We then had a walk around the park before following the route the opposite way back to school.
Last week we had great fun with Stephen from Creative Lego Workshops. He brought in lots of lego and worked with each class to create city scapes and buildings linked to our topics. EYFS, year 1 and year 2 built London Bridge, Buckingham Palace and Big Ben to celebrate the King’s Coronation. Year 3 worked on buildings from the Romans, year 4 Ancient Egypt and years 5 and 6 Ancient Greece. The children had a fabulous time.
