  • SMSJ Newsround LIVE!

    Fri 21 Oct 2022

As a school we decided that it would be a wonderful idea to create a video newsletter at the end of each half term to share all of the fabulous activities and learning that have been taking place in school. The children were really excited to produce this for you so please sit back, relax and enjoy.

Congratulations to our three young athletes who represented our school at the Blackburn schools cross country event. They really did perform well and we were so proud of their fighting spirit and sportsmanship. Some outstanding running by all three of them and some very excited staff and parents cheering them on at the side line.

  • Year 5 and Year 6 visit Blackburn Library

    Fri 07 Oct 2022

Today our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils visited Blackburn library to meet author Christina Gabbitas. Christina is a children’s author, poet, storyteller, and voiceover artist who grew up in Blackburn. The children enjoyed watching Christina perform one of her poems and read an extract from her book. We hope that through her story she inspired some of our budding young authors to reach for the stars and who knows one day publish their own stories.
