    This week year 4 have continued learning about the mountains through their ‘misty mountain sierra’ topic.

    Having located large mountain ranges and highest peaks in each continent, they went onto learn and understand that mountains are formed in a number of ways.

    Having handed items to build a circuit, the children built different circuits to find whether they will work or not after making predictions of the result. Take a look at the pictures on their experiment.

  • Year 4 ELECTRICITY topic

    This term Year 4 are learning about ‘ELECTRICITY’. We understand electricity is a source of energy used to power products around the home.

    The children were exposed to vocabulary such as cell, crocodile clip, buzzer, motor, bulb, bulb holder, battery, wire and so on. They were handed these items and told to build a circuit. The children learned a circuit is a loop around which an electric current flows. When the electrical energy in the current tranfers to a device such as a bulb it lights up.
