School Closure Policy due to adverse Weather

Decision to close

It is very rare that we close school due to inclement weather. However if we do have to close we will endeavour to take the following actions to notify you:

a) We will contact you via text (please make sure that you inform school immediately if you change any of your personal contact details)

b) We will also broadcast the closure on one or more of the local radio stations namely 107 The bee, Radio Lancashire, Heart

You can log onto www.bbc.co.uk/lancashire and www.thebee.co.uk/schools/bee-school-closures where any school affected by closures will be listed.

c) BWD Facebook site, Blackburn with Darwen Council has a facebook page called BwD winter to keep residents informed 24 hours a day, if the weather takes a turn for the worse and becomes disruptive, school closures are listed below on this page. Please do not assume that school is closed if the weather is poor as the decision to close is only taken as a last resort when no other alternative is available.
