Transition

We aim to make the transition from EYFS to Year One as smooth as possible for our pupils.  The classroom is set up to include many areas of continuous provision to allow our children to continue to take responsibility over their own learning and access resources independently to pursue their own interests. Opportunities for self initiated play are provided throughout the day with more formal learning being introduced at the children's pace and stage of learning. 

Homework

Homework will be sent home each Friday, this is available via Class Dojo or a paper copy. This will include a small set of spellings to learn, maths homework and handwriting. Pieces of work should be returned into school the following week to be marked. Marked work will then be returned home. Please remove these from the children's book bag to ensure that only current homework is returned to school. Please could book bags be brought into school every day. Your child will be given two new books every Friday. The teachers will stamp the reading record reward chart when it has been signed. Please listen to your child read as much as possible.
