London Tour

Last week we went to see famous buildings on our tour of London created by Year 6 after having visited the capital in June. We rode on ‘Diddy’ cars from place to place and chose our favourite famous building.

A‘round’ in Sports

Yesterday, some members of our class represented the school in a  rounders match against Shadsworth Primary infants. SMSJ just lost by ½ a point!!

The children are winners anyway for playing fabulously!!

Our Visitor

We had a special visitor, Simeon Woods, who showed us different things you can use to make music with.

He used a metal walking stick, a bicycle pump and   plastic water bottles. We were AMAZED!!!!!!

Families in Britain

Year 2 have been reading a collection of poems by Benjamin Zephaniah, called "We are Britain."

"The  British are not a single tribe, or a single religion, and we don't come from a single place. But we are building a home where we are all able to be who we want to be, yet still be British" (Benjamin Zephaniah).

The children have written a profile of themselves just like the children in his book, 'We are Britain'.

Welcome to our 'Muck,Mess and Mixture' afternoon with parents.
Click on our 'Muck, mess and mixture' folder for more fabulous pictures.

Grow Me

Asim won first prize for looking after the herbs that he planted at 'Bring Yer Wellies' Farm.

Our class assembly was on 'Mother's Day'. The children drew pictures of their mums and talked about why their mum is special to them.  For our Art & Design topic the children had all made a flower sculpture made out of thin wire. They covered their wire flower with different coloured tissue paper coating it with glue to give it a lovely shine. They presented these lovely sculptures to their mums at the end of their assembly. The hall was filled with proud SMILES!!!
