At St Mary and St Joseph’s Roman Catholic Primary School we want pupils to be able to use technology effectively, not just be technology consumers. We want to model and educate our children to use technology positively, responsibly and safely. We want our pupils to be creators and our broad computing curriculum that focusses on computer science, information technology and digital literacy reflects this. Our knowledge-rich curriculum has to be balanced with the opportunity for pupils to apply their knowledge creatively.
We encourage staff to try to embed computing across the whole curriculum to make learning creative and accessible. We want our pupils to be fluent with a range of tools to best express their understanding and by the time our pupils leave us, they are independent and confident to choose the best way to fulfil the task and challenge set.
