Universal Free School Meals

From September 2014, the Government introduced Universal Free School Meals Following the Government announcement all pupils at SMSJRC in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal every day. There are no forms to fill out. Your child is entitled to a free school meal throughout the year or they can change between packed lunches and school dinners whenever they choose.

Parents/carers can also apply for the benefit related free school meals whilst their child is in Key stage 1 (Reception, Year1 or Year 2). We encourage parents to apply if they are on Universal Credit because you could also be eligible for free school milk and extra pupil premium benefits, such as free breakfast club.
