This Month's Virtue Awards
This month we have been thinking about our virtue of 'Kindness'. We were proud to award these children with the 'Bee Award' and it was wonderful to show how their kindness shines each and every day in school. Well done.

Congratulations to the winner of the Sports Cool Award for excellent achievement during her time at the club. Thank you to everyone who took part. We are sure that you enjoyed yourselves and it was great to see you learning new skills each week.
Today Year 2 and Year 6 were visited by the fire and rescue educational team. They did a brilliant job of teaching the children what they should do if they were ever caught in a fire. The children know that they must get out straight away, stay out and call the fire brigade. They also learnt how to stay safe by staying low, checking door handles with the back of their hand and safely exiting buildings. The children will be bringing home a poster with useful information and a competition. Please read these through together. There are also useful phone numbers if you would like support with fire alarms in the home.
Today some of our children went to Darwen to take part in an Adidas Spezial Workshop to celebrate 10 years of the Darwen designer's company. The children were chosen due to their interest in the arts and creativity shown in art lessons. The children designed their own trainers and looked at the types of materials they would use to create their trainer. They developed an understanding of the processes involved in the design and manufacturing stages of the Adidas Spezial brand. The children were then treated to a guided tour of the museum and saw some of the brand's products from the last decade. Some of the trainers on show are worth hundreds of pounds. There was even a pair specially designed for Liam Gallagher of which only two pairs were ever made! The museum is open in Darwen town centre for the next two weeks if you would like to visit with your family. Entrance is free.
Today we were joined by Greg from The Mark 10 Mission. He led the whole school worship and class worship through his unique celebrations of the word. It was lovely to see the children taking part and sharing the scripture through reflection and coming together through prayer.
Today we welcomed Greg from the Mark 10 Mission, who inspired us in prayer and gave us lots of ideas about what we could include in our own prayer time and celebration of the Word throughout school.
Today the children worked alongside artists from Hotbed Press to bring their designs to life though a screen printing workshop. These will be on display at this year's Festival of |Making in Blackburn town centre. This is a great event with lots of amazing things to see and do for all the family. If you get the chance please go and have a look. If you see our artwork send us a photograph on Class Dojo.
We are proud to announce that our school has been chosen to design, plant and maintain some of the planters on Blackburn Station platforms. Today our gardening club and Mrs Ramsden made a start. The children had a great time digging out the weeds and planting a wide variety of plants. The planters looked beautiful once finished and can now be enjoyed by the community. Excellent work team! As part of our Laudato Si' Mission it is our privilege to continue this work.
