Our KS2 children recently took part in an exciting Reading Escape Room adventure, putting their reading skills to the test in a fun and engaging way.
The challenge saw pupils working together to solve a series of reading activities, including retrieval, vocabulary and inference tasks. Each completed activity revealed important clues and codes that helped them progress through the challenge.
The children followed a trail of puzzles around the school as they searched for the missing library key, which had been mysteriously stolen! Using their teamwork, problem-solving abilities and reading comprehension skills, they successfully cracked the codes and uncovered the clues needed to solve the mystery.
The Reading Escape Room was a fantastic way to promote a love of reading while developing key comprehension skills. The children showed great determination, enthusiasm and collaboration throughout the challenge, making it a memorable and enjoyable learning experience for all involved.
Wow! We are so unbelievably proud of these children. We were chosen to represent Blackburn with Darwen in the Lancashire dance finals at Winter Gardens in Blackpool. 25 schools, over 500 children taking part and performing in front of over 2000 people. What an experience!
We had a walk to the beach, chippy tea and just such a fun day!
The highlight was winning 'Best Costume' out of all those schools πΊπΎππΎ

We had the most amazing afternoon celebrating with our wonderful school community. We showcased our competition dance and every child showed off their beautiful party clothes with a walk down our catwalk. We had food stalls, competitions, henna, hair styling, make up, a hamper raffle and tombola.
All staff joined in the celebrations and even wore traditional Eid party wear.
It was a fantastic day π
Huge well done to our children who impressed their teachers so much this month showing their forgiving and caring nature.
