    • Cafod's - Art for Climate Justice

      Published 05/03/25

We are thrilled to share the exciting news that children in our Key Stage 2 art club have been recognised for their outstanding contributions to the Cafod's Art for Climate Justice competition. In November, our pupils designed thought-provoking artwork that highlighted the pressing issues of climate change and how we can all play a role in creating a more sustainable future.

The children's creativity and passion for this important cause have been rewarded, as their three remarkable sculptures have been selected to be exhibited in the Houses of Parliament in March. This prestigious opportunity will allow our young artists to showcase their talents and inspire Members of Parliament to take meaningful action in addressing the challenges of climate change.

At St Mary's St Joseph's, we believe in empowering our pupils to be agents of positive change, both within our school community and in the wider world. Our school's vision and values, which emphasise the importance of faith, service, and environmental stewardship, are clearly reflected in this remarkable achievement.

We are incredibly proud of our talented pupils and the dedication of our art club staff and pupils, who have fostered an environment where creativity, critical thinking, and a commitment to social and environmental responsibility can thrive. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and passion of our school community, and we look forward to celebrating this success with our parents, pupils, and the wider Blackburn community.

As we continue to nurture the growth and development of our pupils, we remain steadfast in our mission to provide a well-rounded education that prepares our children to be compassionate, responsible, and engaged citizens, ready to make a positive impact on the world around them.
