Super super proud of them all π
We had an amazing morning in the forest. Year 3s topic this term is ‘The Romans’, so we painted our date of birth in Roman numerals with mud and sticks, we built colosseums, made weapons using sticks and potato peelers and even played Boggle π
Well done everyone βοΈ

This half-term all our pupils have been working on their gymnastic skills. They have been so brave and really challenged their bodies to create some excellent work. We have been working on so many aspects of gym, including gross motor skills, jumping and landing, strength, flexibility, partner and group balances and developing our team work and cooperation skills by creating sequences.
We have had over 80 children attend the numerous gymnastics clubs each week, and I am so proud of how hard they have been working.
We look forward to our gymnastics competition in February π€ΈπΎ

This year is very special for the Catholic Church as we celebrate the Jubilee Year. To begin our celebrations in school the G.I.F.T team led a whole school worship. They did a fantastic job of letting everyone know why Catholics are celebrating the Jubilee Year, how this will be done and how we will celebrate in school. During the Jubilee many Catholics take a pilgrimage to Rome. Here they are are able to connect with God and make a renewed commitment to their faith. The theme of Jubilee 2025 is hope. Hope helps us not to give up and tells us something new and bright is coming. God gives us hope. The symbol shows a colourful image representing people from different countries in unity. The anchor symbolises God's love. There is a figure holding the cross at the front and there are rough waves underneath symbolising the difficult times we pass through in life.
Year six have been investigating how our lungs, heart and blood vessels all work together to create our circulatory system. Stay tuned for some dissections of lamb's hearts.
Maria Hall came to school today to work with all our pupils and staff, showing us good examples of how to lead prayer time with our classes.
Today Year 5 took part in a full day of active learning as part of the 'Joy of Moving' project run by Blackburn Rovers. The children learnt about how to stay fit and healthy and the importance of a balanced diet and exercise on the body.
