  • Reading Treasure Hunt KS1

EYFS and KS1 children recently took part in an exciting Reading Treasure Hunt around school. The adventure encouraged children to use their reading skills, knowledge of stories, and teamwork to solve clues and find their way to the next location.

At each stop, children read questions linked to well-known and much-loved texts. By answering correctly, they uncovered the next clue and continued their journey through the school. The activity was designed to promote a love of reading while developing comprehension, communication, and problem-solving skills in a fun and engaging way.

The treasure hunt concluded with a special surprise. Following the final clue, the children discovered our brand-new Hive – a calm and welcoming sensory space designed to pupil wellbeing.

To celebrate their success, the children enjoyed sharing a story together in the new environment, exploring the sensory features and experiencing the Hive as a place where imagination and reading can flourish.

The Reading Treasure Hunt was a wonderful way to celebrate books and storytelling, and the children thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of following clues, revisiting familiar texts, and discovering our exciting new reading space.
