To celebrate National Writing Day, our pupils took their learning outdoors and enjoyed a creative writing experience in the fresh air. After collecting writing resources from the Bali Hut, the children chose their own special spot around the school grounds to inspire their writing.

Pupils had the freedom to write whatever interested them, including stories, poems, songs, jokes and other creative pieces. The outdoor environment sparked their imaginations and encouraged them to think creatively while enjoying nature.

It was wonderful to see the children so engaged and enthusiastic about writing, producing a fantastic range of imaginative work and demonstrating that inspiration can be found anywhere.

As part of the Blackburn Literature Festival, pupils from Years 2 to 6 enjoyed a walk to Blackburn Library to take part in a range of exciting literary activities.

During their visit, the children explored the work of poets, illustrators and story writers, discovering how books and stories are created and brought to life. They enjoyed engaging displays, interactive sessions and opportunities to learn more about different forms of literature.

The visit was a wonderful celebration of reading, creativity and imagination, inspiring our pupils to develop their own love of books and storytelling.

Huge well done to our superstar athletes who took part in the BwD Witton Park Athletics event last night.  We had our most successful year ever with Ann Maria winning a bronze medal 🥉 in the Long jump, Omar winning bronze 🥉 in the Throw and Haider winning Gold in the Triple Jump 🥇 

We are so proud of you star all  ⭐ 

Reception are getting really confident on their balance bikes. They are so brave and are now flying round 🚲 

We love watching our year 6s helping our younger children. They came up with lots of fantastic ideas and kept them so engaged. Well done Year 6 ⭐
