To celebrate National Earth Day, every class in school took part in a special project focusing on a different part of our amazing planet. Throughout the day, the children explored a range of topics including oceans, rainforests, wildlife, plants, and ways to care for the environment.

The children worked creatively and enthusiastically, producing a variety of projects, artwork, displays, and presentations to showcase their learning. These activities helped to develop their understanding of the importance of protecting our world and appreciating the natural beauty of the Earth.

It was wonderful to see the children's passion, creativity, and commitment to caring for the environment. National Earth Day provided a fantastic opportunity for our school community to come together and celebrate the planet we all share.

Year 2 helped the whole school reflect on the Easter story through a thoughtful and sensitive performance. As staff read the story, the children acted out the key events, helping everyone to understand the significance of Easter for Christians.

The whole school gathered together in a circle, creating a calm and respectful atmosphere for worship and reflection. We also sang hymns together, which added to the sense of reverence and celebration.

This special gathering helped the children deepen their understanding of the Easter story and the importance of Jesus' resurrection. It was a meaningful opportunity for our school community to show respect for this important Christian belief and to reflect on the messages of hope, love, and new life that Easter brings.

Well done to Year 2 for their excellent performance and mature, respectful approach throughout the event.

This week, Year 6 have been on an exciting trip to Ski Rossendale. The children have learnt how to Ski, the smiles were infectious. After enjoying a Skiing lesson and building confidence on the slopes, the children then had an exciting tubing session. What a brilliant day for everyone involved! 

Year 5 and Year 6 pupils recently enjoyed a fascinating visit from representatives of the Royal Air Force (RAF).

During the session, the children learned about the important role the RAF plays both in the UK and around the world. They explored the wide range of careers available within the RAF and discovered the skills and qualities needed to succeed in different roles.

Pupils took part in a variety of engaging activities that challenged their teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills. They showed great enthusiasm throughout the visit and embraced every opportunity to learn from the RAF team.

The visit provided a valuable insight into future career possibilities and helped inspire our pupils to think about the many opportunities available to them. We would like to thank the RAF representatives for sharing their time, knowledge and experiences with our children and making the day both educational and enjoyable.

Our reception children were so lucky to have baby Alfie come and visit them today.  The children were able to ask his mummy lots of questions about how he is growing and developing and discuss all the changes that happen to us in childhood.
