Journeys

We're going on a bear hunt

We have been learning the story of 'We're going on a bear hunt' by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury.    The children decided to re create the story outdoors by building a bear cave.

We're not scared!

The children went into our 4D classroom to act out the story and imagine how it would feel to take the journey to the bear cave.

Swishy Swashy grass

    A deep cold river

      Thick oozy mud

       Stumble trip through the forest

    A swirling whirling snow storm

Next time you take a journey look all around. What can you see? What sounds can you hear? Try to re create these sounds and make up your own version of the story.

Creating our own backgrounds for our class assembly

We played 'role on the wall' and collected lots of different words to describe the bear.

Homework - Can you draw a bear and write some words which describe what it looks like on the outside and how it feels on the inside?

In maths we have been using prepositional language. These are words which tell us the position of things e.g. under, over, behind, infront.                         Practise using some prepositional language when you are playing at home. Hide and seek and treasure hunts are great games to learn these words!

Using our tuff spot to create and re tell the story.
