Innovations
Year 2 thought of innovative ideas and created their own musical instrument. They demonstrated their instrument in front of the class and Father Ged.
Father Ged used the children’s instruments to perform his little musical show.
Feet Painting
For our Art & Design subject, the children of year 2 stomped their feet in trays of paint and marched across rolls of paper forming coloured patterns. We talked about the patterns created and the formation of more colours as they blended together.
How to make a balloon drum
We each made a balloon drum by following a set of instructions we had written ourselves using sequential words. See if you can make a balloon drum too by following these instructions.
You will need: a balloon, rice, scissors, rubber band, container, sticky tape.
Method:
First- Cut the mouth piece off the balloon using a pair of scissors.
Next- Put a handful of rice into the container.
Then: Stretch the balloon over the top of the top of the container
Finally: Secure the balloon using a rubber band and some sticky tape.
Here are some of our balloon drums.
Dodgeball
We have been playing Dodgeball in P.E. with Miss Boyle and Mrs Woloszczuk, it’s really good fun. Team A from our class took part in a mini tournament at Shadsworth Infants. Miss Boyle, Mrs Woloszczuk and Mr Frankland all came too and were very proud of us because we played brilliantly and we only lost by 1 point. The final score was Shadsworth Infants 10 – 9 SMSJ.
