Beachcombers
In art yesterday we took part in a variety of activities related to our ‘Beachcombers’ topic. Take a look at us making windmills, playing with playdoh using sea creature cutters and creating a collage of a dolphin.
For D&T we made an 'Ocean in a bottle' to watch our own little container of the sea wavesmoving back and forth with splashing and tumbling shells. Take a look at the process and the finished products.

Tongue Twisting
Today the children enjoyed reciting traditional 'tongue twisters' without getting their
tongues twisted!
Listen to their tongue twisters and try to say them yourself without laughing!
The Swan
Swan swam over the sea-
Swim, swan, swim;
Swan swam back again,
Well swum swan.

How deep did Dick's duck dive?
Dick's duck dived as deep as Dick's dog dived.

The children reflected back to their trip to Fleetwood and wrote about their experiences.
On Thursday 4th June we went to Fleetwood as an introduction to our new topic 'Beachcombers'. We visited
''Fleetwood Museum' where we learnt about a
'Victorian Seaside Boarding House' and about the things Victorians did and used everyday.
Afterwards, we went onto the beach to eat our lunch and play in the sand, paddle in the sea and look for shells. A great time was had by all of us children, adults and even 'Barnaby the bear' who came along with us on our trip. Barnaby too, enjoyed his trip and had great fun on the beach especially when he was being buried in the sand. SMSJ treated us all to
ice-cream which finished our trip beautifully!!!!
Today in the 4D room, we watched various clips of creatures living in rockpools and in the sea. We then lay down and imagined ourselves swimming along with the fish and a turtle. Some of the creatures we saw were: squid, limpets, molluscs, dolphins, sharks, ray, seastar and many more.
