Meet our SENDCO

Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo), Mrs Parker, leads the support for pupils with additional needs in our school.

Mrs Parker regularly checks how children are progressing to make sure everyone is supported to do their best. Sometimes we may notice that a child needs extra help. This might come from looking at their progress, talking with teachers, or speaking with parents and carers.

We are an inclusive school. This means we want every child to feel valued and able to take part in school life. High-quality teaching in the classroom is the first step in supporting all pupils. Teachers adapt their lessons so learning is clear, accessible and suitably challenging for everyone. This may include adjusting tasks, using helpful resources, giving extra adult support, or providing small-group or one-to-one sessions.

Mrs Parker works closely with teachers to plan the right support for each child, while making sure they can take part in the full range of subjects we offer.

We believe working closely with families is very important. Parents and carers are kept informed, involved in setting goals, and invited to review their child’s progress. We value your knowledge of your child and see you as key partners in their education.

If needed, we may also work with outside professionals or specialist services to give further advice and support.
