May: The Month dedicated to Mary and We welcome our new Pope, Leo XIV

Honouring Our Lady in May
During the month of May, we held a special assembly to celebrate the Blessed Virgin Mary, one of our school's patron saints. Each class brought a flower to place at the statue of Our Lady, as we said prayers and reflected on Mary's important role in both the Catholic and Muslim faiths.  The GIFT Team led the prayers of the faithful.
Mary is a revered figure who represents purity, compassion, and unwavering faith - qualities that we aim to instil in our pupils.

Welcoming Pope Leo XIV

We were also delighted to have the opportunity to introduce our pupils to the newly elected Pope Leo XIV. During a special assembly, we shared the inspiring story of his life and his commitment to social justice and environmental stewardship. Our pupils were captivated as we discussed the Pope's first words, in which he emphasised the importance of compassion, humility, and service to others.

A Prayer Upon the Election of a New Pope

Let us pray for Leo, our Pope.

May the Lord protect him and grant him length of days.

May the Lord be his shield and deliver him from all harm.

May the Lord give him happiness and peace all the days of his life.

Amen.
