As our journey through World War Two comes to an end we will commemorate this period in our history with a WW2 day this Wednesday.  Please come to school dressed as a child from WW2.

PROPAGANDA

We have produced our own propaganda posters in a WW2 style.

Making WW2 fighter planes with Mr Thomson in Design and Technology.

We found out what food might have tasted like during WW2!

Why not teach a member of your family how to cook using rations!!!!!

We have researched famous leaders and created role on the wall portraits to describe them.

We have been imagining what life must have been like for an evacuee during WW2.

Here are some examples of Year 6 Writing in the style of a diary.

Class 6 have in groups looked at each of the main leaders during WW2. They have studied some of the events in their lives and also what their thoughts and feelings may have been

This term we are learning about World War 2. We began by visiting Blackburn Museum to look at artefacts and learn  about rationing.

 

Here are some photographs of what we saw during our museum visit.

We also experienced what it must have felt like to be evacuated. Mr Frankland sent us all off to different classes with our shoe boxes filled with our favourite things.

You can tell from our expressions how we felt to be evacuated from Year 6!
