Bright Lights Big City

Year One were VERY surprised indeed to receive a letter on posh looking notepaper from 'The Queen'.

She invited Year One to meet her in Queen's Park for afternoon tea.

We waited patiently at the entrance of the park looking out for an important looking car.

When we noticed a large black, shiny car indicate left to drive into the park we were very excited!

As her chauffer opened the car door we saw her sparkling jewels and shiny crown.

She was wearing a white fur stole around her neck.

She asked two of the children to escort her up the main path to the grassy area.

As she sat on her chair we chatted to her, ate Fondant Fancies and drunk sparkling apple juice.

Whilst the queen rested we played Parachute Games in the park before she walked back to school with us to meet our headteacher Mrs Thomson.

We felt very fortunate to have met Her Royal Highness and are grateful to her for the invitation.  We will remember meeting 'The Queen' for the rest of our lives.
